Sewing, sewing, sewing...

So I have mentioned that I have been sewing a lot lately...here are some of my completed projects.  I got the book Wee Wonderfuls by the incomparable Hillary Lang for my birthday and I adore it!  I was a pattern tester for one of her patterns in the book and while I had hoped there would be a few things that I would want to sew, I never thought I would enjoy sewing dolls quite so much.  I want to make just about everything in the book.  The little love I made above was given to a neighbor girl for her 5th birthday. It is the Tag Along Doll in the book.
That was the first one and it has snowballed from there.
I have since made 2 more of the same...
...this love I made for Rubia's 1st Birthday in June.  I have to say it is my favorite of the 3 I have made.  I only had little bits of the purple fabric in my stash so I had to do some piecing.  It's hard to tell in the picture, but there is a strip down the side of another print and I really like how it looks.  Plus, I love the yellow and purple combination.  I only had to buy a bit of brown felt for the hair...everything else came from my stash.
These sweeties are the Sleepover Pals from the book.  I finished them last night and I am in love!  Each one is a little different and I love how there is a sleeping bag to tuck them into. As I was sewing them the childhood song Playmate kept going throuh my head...
"Playmate, come out and play with me,
and bring your dollies three..."
I made these for Evelyn for her 3rd Birthday in August.  I will tuck them away and save them for her big day.  I might just go lock my bedroom door and play with them for awhile myself first. :)
Every fabric I used were scraps and bits and pieces from my stash.  I didn't have to buy a single thing for these beauties.
And when Evie is done playing with them, she can tuck them each into their pocket...
...and roll them up to put them away.
I just love that.
This is a great book and I have one more project from it that I am working on it for Evelyn's birthday...I don't want to rush time, but, I can't wait for August!
How do I have all of this time to sew you ask?  I have been squeezing it in in-between all of the craziness that is life these days...it's keeping me sane, so how can I afford not to?
