This is Elijah when he was about five weeks old.

And a close up..

And here is Evelyn. These two were taken this week.
I am amazed at how alike Elijah and Evelyn look.
At least I think so...

I loved this onesie when it was given to us for the first baby.
Everyone needs a little tie dye.
To semi-paraphrase Winnie the Pooh, no one can be un-cheered by tie dye. He was talking about balloons originally, but I'm sure Winnie would love a little tie dye too.

Seven weeks...

Little Bird continues to steal my heart everyday.
While I was pregnant I wondered how I could possibly have enough room in my heart for another. The heart does grow and stretch, there is plenty of room in there for all three of my loves. The heart is certainly big enough and has an amazing capacity to give love. How I ever doubted is beyond me.
Little Bird, your beauty and sweetness astound me.
Your eyes follow me around the always know where I am.
You are a messy eater and are quick to get frustrated if my milk flow isn't just right.
You hold tightly to my fingers and the way you tuck your head under my chin as I lay you against my chest melts me.
What did I ever do to deserve such blessings?

Happiness is a pumkin patch to a little boy...

We went to the pumpkin patch a couple of weeks ago.
It's a huge place. Take what you might be picturing in your mind's eye and triple it.
The place just keeps going, with lots to do and see.
Elijah had a ball with his cousins, aunts, uncles and Grandma and Grandpa.
There were goats to feed, bouncing to do, trikes to ride (What is a four wheeled bike called? NO clue) and shows to watch.
We got lost in a corn maze and Uncle Mike had to carry a sleeping Elijah the rest of the way.
Evelyn spent the day at the patch close to me in the wrap.
I got a white pumpkin and ate pork BBQ. I forgot to get a funnel cake. I didn't need it, but my it would have been tasty.
Naps were on the agenda when we got home. of Elijah's new words to say is pumpkin...and he says it often...sweetness.

Ansel Adams in the making?

Elijah loves the camera.
He loves looking at the screen after a picture is taken.
When I try to take his picture he often runs towards me to see instead of standing still.
These are his first pictures taken on his own.

Hard to make out...yes
But, oh how I love them none the less.

Glory moments with a newborn...

Because of this...

I was able to get this...washed, dried, folded, and put away.

And this done (all nicely organized).
Plus, changing sheets and sweeping the floor. Yay!

Yes, there is a sweet baby in there.
It's a baby wrap made by Wrap and Wear and it is lovely to use.

Family Goodness

Yes, yes, I am still here.
Things are moving along.
I finished the above doll set and sent it off to our niece Brianna for her First birthday. I had almost finished it before Evelyn arrived. It just had a couple of things left to do. When it went out the door it was great to cross that off the to-do list.

Here is a glimpse of Christmas gifts in the works. I don't want to give away too much since I want the recipients to be surprised. I am enjoying dusting off my embroidering skills and thinking up things to sew for family and friends. Handmade is the way to go.
I have discovered that I can knit and embroider while nursing the little girl. I am enjoying the time for both reasons.

My babies are doing well. There are still daily challenges. I am trying to get us out of the house more and to keep Elijah occupied. He loves to color and to play with the crayons, going for walks and exploring. So I am always on the prowl for new things to do. Yesterday we got mums and mini pumpkins to start decorating. We smelled Cortland apples, picked up gourds, and splashed in a puddle. We ended up coming away with several pounds of apples...applesauce here we come.

Little Bird is growing and changing every minute. She had her one month appointment this morning. She has put on 3 lbs and grown two inches...Wow! She is not really happy unless she is sleeping on a part of your body. You set her down and in five minutes and she is in tears. Today I am ordering a sling. Hopefully, then I will be able to get more done and keep her close.

I hope to be able to come around and visit everyone soon.
Can you believe that it is October?
