Here's my little buddy with her little buddy Raggedy Ann. Rubia is a busy bee most days...moving, rolling, grabbing, jabbering. She is getting her two bottom teeth, so she has a case of the crankies too. She likes to hang out with me wherever I am and if she gets fussy, but isn't hungry or interested in playing, I read to her. She has an affinity for cookbooks. She will lay by me and listen as I read aloud how to make risotto or pumpkin cheesecake. A future chef in the making? You can never start too young, I say. What a kick it would be if her first word is radicchio or cardamom instead of the standard Ma Ma or Da Da. Like I said, raising readers that's my goal.
